Hi,


last night i was playing around with floppfw which seems to me as the most 
advanced floppy distribution regarding the kernel and iptables

who needs a windows GUI for configuration :-)

the only thing i didn't found was a new 1.9.x version which has all the
nice 2.4 kernel features like the packetfilter and support for PPPoE

i have built(or better say hacked :-) ) a working version of 1.9.10 with
pppoe 
(yes it work with TDSL in germany),

and many modifications:


CHANGES:

following changes have been made:

1,722 MB image

        The Disk is now 1.722MB which works perfectly for me even with my
        old compaq 486DX2/66 and under vmware
        syslinux.conf has been modified to use /dev/fd01722


new kernel 2.4.12 with ppp

        new kernel image with compiled in support for ppp

PPPoE package integrated

        added pppoe.bz2 from floppyfw 1.0.x tree
        works perfectly with Deutsche Telekom DSL :-)

pppd 2.4.1, added /dev/ppp

        upgrade within the ppp-plus.bz2 package was necessary
        pppd is now 2.4.1 (striped version)
        also /dev/ppp was added to initrd.gz in order to use ppp at boot
time
        without any required changes after init

merge of 1.9.11 initrd for 4MB

        this version now uses the 1.9.11 initrd because the
        ramdisk was too full for the automatic generated
        config file for ppp and ppoe

exchange of new against old style network.ini for PPPoE

        i had some problems on getting pppoe running at boottime
        so i downgraded this part of network.ini to the former procedure
used
        in 1.0.x

Serial Console is enabled by default on COM1

        i have configured syslinux.cfg and the config so that
        the serial console is enabled on COM1



and - finaly 72K free :-)


i will send the tarball including the image, my kernel config and a README
to Thomas, maybe someone is interested :-)
